MOM, WIFE, ARTIST

Ashton Boessen is a graphic designer and illustrator from Mid-Missouri. Boessen's style relies on the everyday happenings of life. It recalls the small instances that slip by with a smile or a nod, where perhaps by capturing these moments, Ashton is calling attention to the "little things." Her work varies in medium from watercolor to digital media.

Often her work includes the whimsies of her cat, Elphie, her dog, Zelda, her strange family, and her current television or literary obsessions. Ashton also incorporates music where possible, as it has always been a big part of her life.

Ashton graduated from the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg with an undergraduate degree in graphic design and illustration.  During college she worked for Showdown Theater Company as their Graphic Design liaison and Producer, as well as a local business, Youth Excited about Sports, as their Graphic Designer and Marketing Coordinator.

Presently, Ashton designs full-time for the State of Missouri. In 2017, she illustrated a children’s book with a local author, Barbara Backes. It can be found on Amazon.com. She aspires to write and illustrate her own children’s books and freelance full-time.
