Be mine.

Valentine’s Day. The day of love!

I am personally a huge fan of Valentine’s Day. I think that it is a wonderful day to celebrate my loved ones.

When this day comes around every year, I can’t help but think about how much controversy surrounds it. I’ve actually met people who are intentionally unpleasant on Valentine’s Day in protest. But why?

I know, “It is a holiday invented by the card and candy industry to sell more product.” Oh, and of course, “I should show my partner everyday how much I love them and how special they are to me.”

Did you know that you can flood your partner with love 364 days a year and STILL let Valentine’s Day be a special day? Did you also know that the amount of love you show your partner doesn’t correlate to how much they might enjoy chocolate? Were you aware that some people like sappy cards, texts and Facebook posts as a form of publicly sharing with the world how great you think they are?

All I’m saying is, just because you’re not a fan of the day of love, try not to hate on others for enjoying it and participating! Unpopular opinion: I do not enjoy Halloween. However, I keep my non-costumed and eye-rolling negativity locked up in my house watching family style Halloween movies and keeping my opinions to myself.

Happy Heart day lovebirds!
